Like a mule with a spinning wheel-- darned if he knows how he got it and darned if he knows how to use it

We went to Mule Day in Ider, Alabama yesterday for Labor Day. If you are wondering what exactly is a Mule Day and how does one celebrate such a festive day full of mules-- lucky for you- Wikipedia has a interesting article that you can peruse at you own leisure by clicking HERE.
There were mule pulls and horse pulls and horse shows.

(Also, if you want to see some really neat footage of pulling mules, check out the Dirty Jobs episode with mule loggers.)
Weird enough--- it seemed as if it was also Bring Your Miniature Livestock to Work Day. Miniature mules and horses pulling miniature wagons! (Miniature drivers sold seperately) Yes- that is a minature horse on a leash and yes- I do want one for Christmas. Thanks for asking.
Miniature puppy on a string.
But just because we like our livestock tiny and compact, does not necessarily mean we like our vehicles that way too. (Ever seen a little horse toting a gun rack? Doesn't work well. Gotta have a big truck for a big gun.)
Can't you just picture a gun rack on the back and a bumper sticker on his rump that says " These Colors Don't Bleed" or " The South Will Rise Again"?Of course all cowboys and girls aren't as cute as this one.
And speaking of miniatures----- Kalaya pulled her own miniature Superman act too!
Needless to say- my child has NO fear and I'm sure this will eventually result in ER visits in our future. But I have to admit- I LOVE her spirit! She's so much like me.

( I believe I can fly.....)
It was such a great weekend at Nana's. We are blessed with so many good times like these and a wonderful family to share it with.
